Friday 14th July

Hello Everyone, Yet again we are packing a lot into the end of term. A big thank you to the PTA for organising the brilliant Discos yesterday. The children really enjoyed them. in classes every year group has been learning about a different country, including the food and drink. After school today you are invited to our Taste the World celebration in the Junior playground. There will be food from Canada, Syria, Japan, Sweden, South Africa, Ghana ands Sri Lanka. Below is a photo of Y2 learning about Japan.
Have a great weekend, Mr Dewey.

Friday 7th July

Hello Everyone,
I would like to thank everyone who came along to support our Sport’s Afternoons this week. They were lovely community events, and the children enjoyed your support immensely. In fact the whole of Healthy living week has been a great success. Here is a photo of Clownfish class preparing fruit smoothies.
We have had assemblies this week on the theme of change. The message from us has been that, while change can cause anxiety, it is also a great opportunity to embrace new things. The children have responded really positively, and are looking forward to new classes and teachers next year.
Finally, don’t forget that next week is Taste the World week. We warmly invite you to join us after school next Friday to taste the food that the children have made. The event will be in the Junior playground from 3.30-4pm.
Have a lovely weekend
Mr Dewey

Friday 23rd June

Hello Everyone, You may be aware that Bristol City Council are going through a consultation process with a view to closing our local library and withdrawing our two School Crossing Patrols (lollipop ladies). We can only hope that this does not happen! Please make your voice heard if you disagree with these cuts, the link to post your views can be found on the newsletter. On a positive note I can report that Y4 had a great time on camp-here is a photo of them deep in the Forest of Dean! Also, members of our engineering club won a competition at British Aerospace this week-great news! Have a lovely weekend, Mr Dewey

Friday 9th June

Year 4 are very excited about their camp in the Forest of Dean next week. Year 6 are still working very hard, but also finding time to support our reception children with their reading and writing.
Have a great weekend, Mr Dewey.

Friday 26th May

Hello Everyone, This term seems to have flown by, and I hope the weather is fine for the half term. Please have a good look at the dates for the Summer term as we have lots of things going on! Many of you will know Mrs Edmunds, who has an amazing teaching career of 40 years at Knowle Park. She is now officially retired, and she came into school this week to say farewell to children and staff, and to plant a tree. We wish her all the best and cannot thank her enough for the amazing commitment that she has shown towards the school for so many years.

Friday 19th May

Hello Everyone, from today you will be able to subscribe to receive the weekly newsletter by e-mail. This means that you will not receive a paper copy, although there are always copies available at reception. We hope this is a useful service, and that it will also cut down on the amount of paper that we use. Go to the website and click news-home-subscribe.
It was great to see our Year 1 children having scooter sessions on Wednesday, this was followed by Skateboarding for Year 2 on Thursday. We have booked the provider to return for more sessions next year. Have a good weekend, Mr Dewey.

Friday 12th May

Hello Everyone.

I would like to congratulate all of Year 6 on their grown-up and hard-working attitude this week as they completed their SATs tests. We are all extremely proud of them and we can see they are certainly getting ready for secondary school. Meanwhile, Year 4 had brilliant trip to @Bristol as part of their science topic “What happens inside us?”. Remember, this term at Knowle Park we are all scientists. See what you can research this weekend! Mr Dewey

Friday 5th May

Hello Everyone,
Our Year 6 children are sitting their Y6 SATs tests next week. They have worked incredibly hard all year, and we are very proud of them. We are confident that they will show that they have made great progress during their time at KPPS, and that they are ready for the next phase of their education at Secondary school. At the other end of the school here is a lovely photo of our Reception children having a great time at our field this morning.
Have a great weekend, Mr Dewey.

Friday 28th April

Hello Everyone,
The children have returned from the Easter holiday full of energy. We have all got stuck into our learning with enthusiasm and energy. There have been lots of Literacy stimulus events across the school, and Reception have already been on a trip to Redcatch Park. This is quite a short term, and we intend to pack in lots of fun learning over the next four weeks. It was also great to see our girls and boys football teams playing in tournaments this week. We also had a visitor from the MOD encouraging children to enjoy their Science topics this term.
Have a good Bank Holiday Weekend, Mr Dewey.

Friday 7th April

Hello Everyone,
It has been a lovely last week of term at Knowle Park. Thanks to the PTA for organising the cup cake sale and raffle. The big event of the week was the Easter Service at St Martins Church. The children always enjoy visiting the church, and the singing was wonderful. On behalf of everyone at Knowle Park I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter.
Mr Dewey.
